"Tux Paint"
is a free drawing program designed for young children (kids
ages 3 and up). It has a simple, easy-to-use
interface, fun sound effects, and a cartoon mascot who helps
you along.
Tux Paint is completely free software, released
under an 'Open Source' license the GNU General Public
License. This means you may download it and install it on
as many machines as you wish, copy it for friends and family,
and give it to your local schools.
Tux Paint runs on a variety of operating systems,
including Windows, Mac OS X,
Linux, NetBSD, and Solaris. It works fine on
slower machines (e.g., Pentium 133MHz), and even runs
over a network, on thin-client systems!How Can It Be Free?
Tux Paint is developed by volunteers
around the world. It's free software for children; free software
for schools! We work on it as a labor of love, with the hopes
that people will find it useful, and in turn share it with
their own friends and family. We aren't doing this to make
money; most of us have day jobs to pay our bills.
